It’s Hard To Admit Your Hiccups…

…especially as a web hosting company. But, we are going to do it anyway.
One of our server was unstable for the last couple of days due to some irregularity running of a WordPress plugin by one of our customer. As we all know, not every WordPress plugin are perfectly developed, and unfortunately there are some that could really hog the server resources. We’ve then dealt with it and the server is flying again.
For our customers that have been affected by this, we are truly sorry. As a token of apology, we will credit back an extra month to your hosting period.
Cheers.
p/s: Happy Valentines Day!

Naldz Graphics is Back!

About 2 months ago, one of our participant’s website of the coolest blog competition mysteriously went offline. We tried every method there is to get in touch with owner – simply because the website has every single reason to be the top finalist. Unfortunately, the website remained offline, while we couldn’t get to the owner, it broke our heart to exclude it out from the Finals.
Now, we couldn’t be happier.
Oh yes. Naldz Graphics is finally back. Better yet, it’s hosted with us. Great decision, Ronald!
Before you rush off to visit Naldz Graphics, we would like to share two important lessons from the incident.
1. Fully Own Your Domain Name
Having your details in your domain name’s WHOIS information and having the management of your domain name are completely two different things. Your domain name has to be always under your control. Which means, you must have the power (and responsibilities) to lock, transfer, renew, and modify the DNS of your domain name.
2. Get Your Own Hosting (and backup often)
While it’s tempting when somebody else offer to host for you free, it’s crucial to get your own hosting. The primary reason is, again, you will be (and need to be) fully in control and won’t become a victim when the hosting account got suspended or gone for whatever reason. And, don’t forget to perform a full backup at least once a week (it takes 2 clicks to do that in our control panel).
If you own a website but have trouble owning full control on your domain or hosting, you know who to seek for help. 😉

New Website Design: WP WebHost 2.0

New Website Design: WP WebHost 2.0

We have upgraded our website (made it before 2009, yay!) to a new interface and design. Instead of the previous sales-letter style of presentation, we are now going for a more traditional approach of web design.

WP Freedom Blog + WP WebHost = WP WebHost 2.0
You might be wondering where did our blog go? Well, we’ve integrated it under our main page. Now you can directly see the blog updates through our homepage.

New Section: Customer Listing
We are proud of the customers we host. So, we handpicked a few customers and made a page specially about them. If you host with us and wanted to get yourself listed there, just ask.

“Best of WordPress” Blogroll
If you look at the bottom of our sidebar, you’ll notice a blogroll titled “Best of WordPress”. Yes, we’ve listed every single WordPress ninjas, masters, gurus, sifus and rockstars there. It only shows five at a time, and rotate randomly.

Affiliate Program quietly sneaks in
Surprisingly, even before we announce it, there are already a few of our customers signed up as affiliates (they act so fast that they deserved a prize!). But, we’ll save it for the next post on our affiliate program. If you can’t wait, head over there and sign up first.

What do you think of our new design?
Like it? Hate it? Tell us what do you think. 🙂
